With a hands on personal, friendly approach all the instructors at Ribble Valley Pilates are highly qualified instructors who have trained with physiotherapists with the understanding of how to deliver the best Pilates classes for you.

So why do I teach Pilates?   After years of horse-riding, running marathons and finally living life as an elite cyclist on the Great Britain squad my back had had enough! I visited my osteopath on a regular basis, but then he introduced me to Pilates.    After 12 weeks I felt more mobile and more in tune with my body than I had been for years.    I was already qualified in aerobics, gym training, aqua and spinning so I decided I was going to train as a Pilates Instructor, that was 5 years ago.   I know it works from first hand experience, I believe in it, I am passionate about it. See you at a class and come and change your life!

I come from a cycling background and spent 10 years on the Great Britain road cycling team.   I represented both Great Britain and England in the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games and the Tour De France Feminin. After retirement I took up cycling as a recreational cyclist.   After having two children, sport and exercise took a back seat as I concentrated on my family life.   My motivation to start pilates was to bring muscle tone back to my tummy area, after having my family, when time to myself was at a premium. I quickly noticed results using pilates, which also complimented my other aerobic activities.

My background is in dance.  I trained at Bird College and performed in musicals in Germany and the UK.  It is my experience that body awareness benefits physical, mental and emotional well-being.  I am therefore interested in helping people to strengthen the mind-body connection.  The fast-pace of modern life can dim this down or cause it to become switched off.  Thankfully, Pilates is a very effective tool for switching it back on and turning it up!
